We often see multiple horizons when looking at a landscape of distant islands, forests, and mountains. Such a vista with its sequence of varying images evokes a subliminal sense of recession into depth that is pleasing to the observer. Similarly, one's imagination is stimulated by the design of the Nickbe table with its abstract vista-like composition of circular discs united to a vertical framework of multiple legs. Projecting the notion of visual successions in nature, the table emanates an unusual duality of aesthetics flowing from the interplay of art and function.
